Osoyegbon

“Osoyegbon means ‘I am not a slave.’ It’s the name Gloria Patrick was born with – and the defiance etched into her bones.
Trafficked to the UK from Nigeria with the promise of a better life, Gloria faced sexual exploitation, physical, emotional, and psychological abuse before finding sanctuary in a safe house.
Based on Gloria’s lived experience, Osoyegbon is an audio engagement project for young people that explores sexual abuse, modern slavery and mental health.
Commissioned and produced by Fuel.
Creative Learning
This audio piece is complemented by a Creative Learning Toolkit, developed in partnership with Solace Women’s Aid and Creative Learning Specialist Susie Ferguson. The toolkit offers thoughtful and engaging approaches to explore challenging themes such as human trafficking, modern slavery, and abuse.
Designed for youth groups and classrooms, the toolkit provides adaptable resources suitable for ages 14 to 20, and is aligned with KS4 and KS5/Sixth Form attainment goals.
The Creative Learning Toolkit is available for free on Fuel Engage – Fuel’s free creative learning platform for teachers, educators, and those interested in innovative learning practices.
